The official launch date of SAIF is on January 1st, 2024.
Micro-CT and Vevo3100 will be available upon the launch but MRI is under repair. We’ll announce as soon as the MRI is available.

The University of Texas at Dallas Small Animal Imaging Facility is located in the Natural Science and Engineering Research Laboratory (NSERL) and provides services for ex vivo and in vivo small animal imaging using three state-of-the art equipment: Bruker BioSpec 3T MRI, MILabs ultra-high resolution Micro-CT equipped with an optical imager, and Fujifilm VisualSonics Vevo 3100/LAZR-X for ultrasound and photoacoustic imaging. These services are supported by the Office of Research and Innovation with availability of technical staff to develop protocols and assist with imaging sessions. In addition to the imaging services provided, data processing is available using licensed software offered by the vendors.

Applications

Imaging capabilities of the core’s equipment include:

  • Characterizing in vitro contrast agents
  • Drug discovery and development before in vivo studies
  • Ex vivo validation
  • Comparing novel imaging techniques to gold standards
