Cleanroom User Safety Training

We migrated the CRL access process to BioRaft, which should streamline access for new users and maintaining our records. External Users (outside of UTD) need to have a contract signed between your institution and UTD before applying for access.

Access Process

Step 1

New user access request online

New user clicks on Request Laboratory Access link to fill in required fields, including sponsor (PI) (non-UTD user need a valid signed contract before submitting a request)

Step 2

User’s sponsor is contacted

Submitting the survey sends an email to the user’s sponsor. The sponsor must verify the request for cleanroom user access

Step 3

User is added to Cleanroom group on BioRaft

When the sponsor confirms the request for access by email to CRL team, the user is added by CRL staff to BioRaft profile. BioRaft auto-notifies the user for training modules to be completed.

Step 4

User completes online safety modules

All modules must be completed with a score of 75% or better on the comprehension tests. User to contact John Goodnight to schedule the safety tour.

Step 5

User schedules and attends lab walkthrough

Cleanroom staff will contact user to inform them of scheduled time for the safety lab tour. (The lab tour includes safety policies and emergency exit procedures.)

Step 6

User is granted access

When the tour is complete, access is granted and user is notified by email. A photo ID will be made for the user. Email lab associate director to schedule tool trainings.
